Practise by question type

Every test is tagged by the question types inside it, so you can focus on the ones that cost you marks.

Form & note completion

Fill gaps in a form, a set of notes or a summary while you listen. Spelling has to be correct and the word limit in the instructions is part of the answer.

Complete a table as the talk moves from one row to the next. The order of the rows follows the order of the recording.

Multiple choice

Choose the right option, or choose two or three from a longer list. Distractors are usually mentioned and then corrected by the speaker.

What loses marks

!Spelling

A misspelt word scores zero. British and American spellings are both fine.

!Word limit

NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS means two at most. A third word loses the mark.

!Grammar

A singular where the sentence needs a plural is marked wrong.
