Every test is tagged by the question types inside it, so you can focus on the ones that cost you marks.
Form & note completion
Fill gaps in a form, a set of notes or a summary while you listen. Spelling has to be correct and the word limit in the instructions is part of the answer.

What loses marks
!Spelling
A misspelt word scores zero. British and American spellings are both fine.
!Word limit
NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS means two at most. A third word loses the mark.
!Grammar
A singular where the sentence needs a plural is marked wrong.
From 40 answers to a band score
Each correct answer is one mark. Your total out of 40 converts to a band from 1 to 9 using the table IELTS publishes, and that is exactly what this site uses when you check your answers.
